Travellers Stranded As NLC, TUC Block Entrance To Abuja Airport

Activities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport were grounded by protesting members of the Nigeria Labour congress and Trade Union Congress.

Organised Labour had mobilised members for a protest at the Abuja airport today.

Members of the unions gathered at the airport around 8:58 a.m. to enforce their directive to members working in the aviation sector to stop all flights to Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The move is part of actions by the unions following an attack on the president of the NLC, Joe Ajaero in Imo State.
The workers’ unions commenced the procession as they all filed out in a convoy heading to the airport. The protesters blocked both the entry and exit ways of the of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
