Sanwo-Olu To Retirees: Avoid Donating Your Pensions To Religious Centres

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has advised retiring civil servants to wisely manage their contributory pension and avoid donating it to religious groups.
Sanwo-Olu gave this advise on Thursday at the 105th Retirement Bond Certificate presentation ceremony, held at Oregun, Ikeja Lagos, where 2,000 retirees received pension worth N4.5 billion.

Sanwo-Olu emphasised the state government’s commitment to its retirees’ welfare, having paid N141.2 billion to 35,191 retirees since the inception of the Contributory Pension Scheme.
He also announced the launch of a Health Insurance Scheme for retirees, providing access to medical services.
The Director General of Lagos State Pension Commission, Mr. Babalola Obilana, expressed gratitude to the governor and stakeholders for their support, and encouraged retirees to make informed choices about their pension options.
The senior citizens of the state present at the presentation of bond certificate to retirees, appreciated the Governor’s gesture. They also held a special prayer session for Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
