Kogi Govt Imposes Vehicular Movement Restriction Ahead Of LG Polls

The Kogi State Government has announced a restriction on vehicular movement on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to ensure smooth conduct of the local government elections.

Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information, stated on Friday in Lokoja that the move aims to safeguard voters and residents across the state’s 21 local government areas.

Security agencies have been instructed to enforce the order and penalize violators. Fanwo urged citizens to come out in large numbers to vote and assured them of adequate security during the election.

He expressed confidence in the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, KOSIEC, to conduct a free and fair election, calling on citizens to peacefully make their choices at the polls. The state government remains committed to maintaining law and order to promote the state’s growth and development.
