… I Cried Two Years After I Lost My Dad— Majaro reflects on father’s death

The immediate past SUG President of the Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, Comrade Majaro Temitope has dedicated his meritorious awards and achievements (graduate) in loving memory of his late father, Mr. Majaro Sunday, and to the fatherless children across the globe as he graduated from the cradle of higher learning, YABATECH with several special awards of recognition sequel to his excellence leadership performances.

Majaro Temitope, currently bagged Higher National Diploma, HND, in Book Publishing.

Earlier, various faculties of the college had recognised his remarkable contributions to the development of the institution and he bagged the following awards: Man of the Year, Exemplary Leadership, Aluta Grand Commander of the 43rd YASUG, and Best in Leadership. As he graduates with these honors, he believes with determination and total trust in God, there is always a light at the end of a turnel for everyone who aspires to be successful in life no matter the challenges they are facing.

He said, “I dedicate this day to my daddy of a blessed memory and to all the fatherless children across the globe. Since I lost my dad, I vowed to make him both my Heavenly Father and earthly father.

“I stumbled on a scripture in the Bible in Psalm 68:5 that says, “God is the father of the fatherless.

“I can’t just imagine him seeing us how fast we’ve grown into the man and woman he desires us to become”, Majaro Temitope said.

Majaro, while reflecting on his journey of life in the just concluded 36th Convocation Ceremony of the YABATECH, emphasized on the challenges he faced after losing his dad to the cold hands of death some years ago at the age of 16.

According to him, the reality of his father’s demise began to reflect on him exactly two years after the sad incident.

He said, “I remember vividly like yesterday when the cold news that my dad left the planet broke out. I still remember the chair I sat when the news broke out, I was 16 at the time.

“I didn’t even cry, maybe because I don’t really know the magnitude of what had happened to me or I thought I would see him some other time. As time flies reality begin to dawn on me.”

As Comrade Majaro Temitope secured an admission into the college (YABATECH) to pursue a National Diploma in Mass Communication in the year 2016, according to him, paying his school fees on time during ND2 became a challenge and for this reason, he was asked to pay a penalty fee for his payment portal to be reactivated, an experience that made him wept bitterly as the person he requested to borrow him a sum of N10,000 gave him negative response, an experience that aggravated the pains in his heart.

His words, “Two years after my dad died, I cried like a baby, you know why? I paid my school fees late (ND2 I guess), so I needed to pay additional fee for my portal to be reactivated ,then I beckon on someone to give me the money. The money then was approximately N10,000 then and the person said “NO”.

“Then I heard the following week that this same person celebrated his birthday twice the same week I told him to borrow me N10,000.

“Then immediately, I remembered my dad, and I was like if this man was alive, such a thing would not have happened to me.”

The immediate past SUG President also gives kudos to his mother, Omobola Majaro, siblings, his aunties, uncles as well as spiritual mothers and fathers who have contributed positively in his journey in life
