Tinubu Approves Salary Increase For Nigeria’s Military Personnel

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a salary increase for Nigeria’s armed forces, as confirmed by Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, in a statement on Friday.

The government has also authorized the payment of three months’ salary arrears and released funds to settle outstanding pensions and entitlements for retired military personnel.

Matawalle confirmed that military personnel have started receiving alerts for the salary increase, providing a significant morale boost. He praised Tinubu’s dedication to supporting both active and retired military members, stressing that clearing pension arrears for retirees remains a priority.
