NFF Officially Unveils Eric Chelle As Super Eagles Head Coach

Eric Chelle was formally introduced on Monday as the new head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles during a ceremony at the media conference room of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed his appointment last Tuesday, making Chelle the 42nd substantive head coach of the team.
A former Mali international, the 47-year-old has been entrusted with revitalizing Nigeria’s struggling 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. The Super Eagles currently sit fifth in Group C, with three points from four matches and no wins so far.
Chelle is also expected to lead the home-based Super Eagles in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast.
