Lagos Constructs 1,000-Bed Mental Health, Rehabilitation Centre

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is leading the development of the Lagos State Mental Health Institute, a psychiatric and rehabilitation centre in Ketu Ejirin, Epe Local Government Area.
Covering approximately 25 hectares, the facility will house 1,000 beds and serve as a specialized centre for individuals with mental health conditions, offering comprehensive care, rehabilitation, and reintegration support.
The centre will also include recreational and vocational programmes to aid full recovery.
This initiative was announced on Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Jubril Gawat, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
He stated, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is constructing the Lagos State Mental Health Institute, Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Centre in Ketu Ejirin, Epe.
“The 1,000-bed facility, situated on a 25-hectare site, will serve as a rehabilitation home for individuals with mental health challenges. It will also feature recreational and vocational centres for their complete rehabilitation.”
