Finally, Donald Trump Confirms Phone Conversation With President Buhari

President Donald Trump of the United States of America, on Tuesday, February 14, confirmed his telephone conversation with President Muhammdu Buhari on Monday.

This was confirmed by the White House Press Secretary and Communications Director, Sean Michael Spicer in his introduction of Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing.

He mentioned that President Trump spoke with President Buhari of Nigeria and Jacob Zuma of South Africa as well as receiving the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau on Monday.

Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity said the chat was cordial.

He said Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States and on his cabinet.

Adesina added that both leaders discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism through provision of necessary equipment.

Adesina quoted Trump as encouraging President Buhari to keep up “the good work he is doing.”

He also said Trump commended Buhari for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the abducted Chibok Girls.
